Rock-o-Phonix

"Rock-O-Phonix 2012 @IIT Guwahati" the national semi-professional band contest due this February (2nd to 5th february) is back again. With prizes in excess of INR 1.5 lakhs, guitars for best instrumentalists and studio recording session for the winner, its time we turned the hourglasses upside down. In addition, finalists shall be part of a first ever marathon 6 hour college-concert, and with the prospect to headline for an international act, you might get just a little more wanting. Not to mention, with the explosive 20,000 watts of raw sound-blast and the headbanging crowd of North-East, its popularly known as the Holy Grail of Rock.

Drop in your band details/contacts along with a couple of self-composed songs (studio recordings, live performance video link, reverbnation link, etc.) at "rockophonix@alcheringa.in" with a cc to "vaibs1@gmail.com".

RULES

When we say that we get some of the best rock acts in the country, we ain't kidding. This is the Holy Grail of Rock… the winner takes it all. The compe¬tition is in two stages:
• Prelims
• Finals

GENERAL GUIDELINES

• Eligibility: All Indian bands are eligible to register. You need not necessarily be a college band to participate in Rock O Phonix 2012.
• Explicit or offensive lyrics/gestures guarantee immediate expulsion from the stage.
• Booze/Drugs/Smokeare strictly disallowed on campus.
• Organizers reserve the right to admission.
• No registration fees will be charged and accommodation will be provided.
• Bands are encouraged to bring their own gear/add-ons. Only drum kit and sound arrangements will be provided by the organizers.
• Bands that make it to top five will be given one way transportation charges (second class sleeper equivalent in case of train) on the production of the bus or train tickets. For other participants, General re-imbursement rules will apply.
• All the video recordings,photos and media generated in Rock O Phonix will be sole property of Rock O Phonix,Alcheringa and IIT Guwahati and can be used for publicity .Your participation in rock O Phonix 2012 represents your agreement to the same.
• Breach of any rules at any stage of the entire process will invite disqualification.
• Final decision regarding any matter lies in the hands of the organizers and judges and is absolutely binding.
• The rules are subject to change without any prior notice.
